Half inch recording tape has always been the favorite format universally for mastering and for multi track recording in medium size studios. It's hard to beat the outstanding sound of a 2 track 30 IPS master tape! If you're recording on a Tascam, Fostex, or Otari deck, you may want to stick to SM911 or ATR Master tape. These tapes have a bias range that can be accommodated by these decks, but the ATR is the highest output tape on the market.

NOTE: Since we allow absolutely no returns on recording media, you don't have to worry about buying someone else's half finished project, or swapped tapes. (Defectives are handled by the manufacturer.) Downside: Make sure you know what you're ordering!

We urge our customers to stock up on at least a week's worth of tape in case the tape they want is not available from the manufacturer if we run out. If our site allows you to order the tape in the quantities you want, we have it in stock for immediate shipment.
