All open reel recording tape in this
section is ¼" wide format.
1/4" Tape Media Format Options:
Tape lengths
of 1200 feet through 1800 feet are
all shipped on 7" plastic reels and have the industry standard ¼" diameter mounting
hole
with the three keyways.
All tape lengths of 2500 or 3600 feet on reels are on 10½"
metal NAB reels unless they're
specified as being pancakes which are rolls of
tape shipped on a flange ready hub but not on any reel.
RMGI and ATR Pancakes of tape are shipped in cardboard ECO packs and come on a
ATR/USR/RMGI/AMPEX/3M compatible
flange ready hub (no flanges
included...just add two flanges and a USR hardware set
and you can assemble a finished reel.)
NOTE: Hubs are the fiberglas part that the tape is wound on, and it's also the part that the screws go through to mount metal flanges. All 1/4" wide RMGI-EMTEC tapes on reels come in a chipboard setup box and ATR 1/4" tapes come in a very strong black plastic tape care box.
Since we allow
absolutely no returns
on recording media,
you don't have to worry about buying someone else's half finished project, or swapped tapes. (Defectives are handled by the manufacturer.) Downside: Make sure you know what you're ordering!
