ATR Studio Master Tape is our most popular open reel tape. This item is ATR Magnetics Studio Master Tape 1/4" X 2500' on a metal reel. ATR is not kidding about quality, and the nice thing about this tape is it can be used on almost all quality 1/4" decks except for the very oldest tube decks. We've tested this tape on a variety of decks ranging from a TEAC A3340, Revox A77, to an AMPEX ATR102 and the results were excellent.
Backcoated, this very high output tape (highest ever commercially made) can operate at a +10.5 dB operating level, although you don't have to, and the noise floor is simply the lowest on the market.
