Software audio systems like Pro Tools or video editing require a very fast, stable, and reliable real world storage system. The last thing you need is to lose your hard earned Pro Tools or video editing session because your drive dies from overheating since the line lump can't keep up with its current demands. Made in USA, Avastor drives are simply the best performers not only initially, but over the long haul and are indeed the pro audio and video industry standard.

Avastor interface technology allows for very high speed (up to 800 Mbps with Avastor) transfer from your computer to external devices. You no longer are limited to IDE speeds or especially serial/parallel port speeds which have insufficient bandwidth for applications requiring speed and reliability. And the Avastor DUAL speed double FireWire ports on the HDX800 make it ideal for split drive sessions. Many "triple" drives from other companies can't be daisy chained at high speeds since they have one 400 Mbps and one 800 Mbps port only. This would automatically limit you to 400 Mbps.

When ordered from US Recording, each of our drives comes with an anti-static foam lined shock resistant case, NARAS approved labels, and full three year factory warranty from Avastor. Works on MacOS including the latest versions or Windows 98/XP/ME/2000/Vista/Win 7

*Note: Avastor drives can be used for practically any storage application- Pro Tools and video editing happen to be the most severe applications, but also the most popular. Our drives do not include FireWire® or USB card for your computer. Consult with your computer manufacturer for options.
