Hold down tapes are used to secure the end of the tape to avoid partial unspooling of the tape against the flange. This is critical for proper tape storage especially when archiving tapes for storage. Always store tapes in a "played" condition as opposed to storing tapes after fast rewinding them. ATR hold down tapes will preserve the played condition, help avoid edge damage, and can be used for colour coding to tell you if the tape is heads out or tails out. Comes in a re-sealable bag.
